Im Maximare fand am Donnerstagvormittag die traditionelle Prinzentaufe statt. Gegen 12:30 Uhr stand der große Höhepunkt der Veranstaltung an.
Hamm – „Hamm Helau!“, hieß es am Donnerstagvormittag im Maximare. Das Festkommitee Hammer Karneval (FHK) hatte zur traditionellen Prinzentaufe an Weiberfastnacht geladen.
Karneval in Hamm: FHK lädt zur Prinzentaufe ins Maximare Moderator Klaus Holtschmidt vom KC Rote Funken begrüßte die rund 100 Gäste, Oberbürgermeister Marc Herter eröffnete die Feierlichkeiten um 11:11 Uhr. Neben den Tänzerinnen der „Tanzkojoten“ sorgten die fünf Hammer Karnevalsgesellschaften mit Pauken und Trompeten für angemessene musikalische Unterhaltung und auch die Büttenrede sorgte für gute Stimmung bei den Feierlustigen:
